The reason is that the biggest palm leaf in the world has fallen in my backyard!!!

It’s not even my palm tree! It’s my neighbours, but the wind obviously knew I wanted to be blessed by it!

This us a whole Otto bin worth of palm leaf! (mental note: this week you have no garbage capacity. Only use products that have edible packaging… Mmmm…. Fibre!)

A woman has been run over by a council 4WD vehicle while sunbathing on a Gold Coast beach!

Only in Queensland! http://bit.ly/38HWQP

Maybe this could be the replacement sport if the GP  cars don’t arrive in time for the race!

To Do!

October 16, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I know this isn’t the sexiest thing to write about but if you use To Do lists or any kind of organizational app… Immediately download Things http://culturedcode.com/things/iphone/?s=tt

I’ve been using it this last week because my day and night jobs were getting so hectic and it has made a huge difference in getting through my daily tasks! HUGE!

It works great if you know GTD (Getting Things Done) methodology (I don’t but many do).

It also syncs wirelessly with the Mac desktop client.

It’s pricey for a To Do list… But worth every cent. It’s not till you use it will you realize how well designed it is.

8 out of 5 stars!

Cupcakes!

October 16, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Here’s something that seems truely Queensland!

People up here are crazy about cupcakes! Or at least the people I hang with.

They go to extraordinary lengths to decorate and flavour them (gin & tonic anyone?… True!)

I don’t remember cupcakes being so popular in Sydney, or as extravagant!

Just never enough time!

October 16, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Yes I did think that being able to blog on my iPhone would make a difference to frequency of post… But it hasn’t.

It’s been a tough couple of weeks since moving into SeaSpray. Unforseen dramas have kind of put a damper on the whole thing despite a wonderful birthday/housewarming party.

But we work through things. Nothing ever happens without reason.

And in an environment where coding is difficult someone brought me an idea for an iPhone app framework that relies on me to get out of the Captains Chair and get real world data, so that’s been a great distraction.

SeaSpray is good (thanks for asking). He loves his pool and can spend his days sunbathing around the pool with no fear of being blown away.

iCardz2go has had to take a back seat for now but sales continue strong.

The beginning of Oct was the date I set for iCardz2go to reach a certain set of criteria which it did so that means I will invest the time and money and ramp it up to full production. And depending on which blog you read, it will be a great product for the new Apple Tablet.

Everything is good or soon will be.

Apple Job Offer

October 6, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Well done to this certain blogger. So excited was he that he received a job offer from Apple that he photographed and posted on-line his Welcome To Apple package.

No doubt he did this before reading the non-disclosure agreement. Hopefully this will not be the shortest career at Apple in it’s history.

The best study in the world just got better!

October 5, 2009 · Leave a Comment

For those of you who saw photos of my study on Capri, or visited and saw it in person, you know how special it was.

As I was packing it up I wondered how my new house could ever beat it… but it has.

My study is now an alcove about a sunken living room, with a door out to the canal deck.

From my desk chair I can watch SeaSpray frollick in the pool, or watch the wildlife of my huge gum tree on the canal (Did I tell you that Bitey Bat and Pinky and Perky the Ducks have followed me here?). I also have a new Magpie named Gregory that hops up the steps of the deck to see if there is any food for him.

But I’ve gotten off track…

My new study is smaller and I love the cosy-ness of it.

Here are two very quick iPhone pics. The lighting on the bookcases is not quite right yet. When I get the lighting in place, I will take some decent photos to share with you.

The house has been warmed!

October 5, 2009 · Leave a Comment

What a fantastic birthday weekend!

The kick-off for pinball party season, a housewarming and my birthday all at once.

After such an exhausting week of moving and setting up house the last three days have been maximum relaxation and fun!

With two fanstic entertaining areas, I kept looking for the little people to come and open my bottle of Rose! It was that good!

Here’s a couple of iPhone pics… the other pics will be posted soon… as soon as I find the camera cable! I thought I unpacked it but it appears not.
