Tablet???

December 24, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Apple have scheduled a media event for Jan 26th.

As rumors have ramped up in the last couple of weeks, with some developers being asked to prepare “full size” demos in January, the likelihood is that this is the tablet launch.

Dragon’s Lair now available for iPhone

December 9, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Wow! Dragon’s Lair has been released by EA and it’s fantastic. $5.99 which is cheaper than what I paid for the aracade version.

They even have a Home mode where you can play a scene until you’ve mastered it… Including the deleted scenes which a appeared on the repressing of the laserdiscs.

Get it NOW!

Magic Mouse is really MAGIC!!!!

November 12, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Well it’s now been nearly two weeks since I’ve had my Magic Mouse and it’s the best mouse I have ever used!

At first the shape of it feels odd in your hand, but after about an hour of use I got very use to it and how to hold it.

But the best feature is the scrolling and swiping.

It’s multi-touch surface makes it a breeze to scroll through documents, windows, and photoshop canvases. Swiping too.

The Magic Mouse’s preference pane show you with video all the various moves you can make so you can play with the settings.

There have been reports of it disconnecting now and then. On my 2008 Mac Pro it has been rock solid. I guess different models have different bluetooth hardware so your mileage may vary. There have also been reports of people who just don’t like it – and maybe you won’t either, so I suggest you go to the nearest Apple Store to check it out, but use it for a while – don’t just grab it and say “This feels strange.” Persist and I think you will be rewarded.

I’ll let you know how battery life is in a couple of weeks, and that’s one of the reasons I don’t like Bluetooth peripherals… the battery always dies at the most inopportune time. Apple have promised terrific power management so I’ll let you know how long they last using the Mac everynight for 6 hours and every weekend.

I recommend you buy one. You’ll love it as much as me! As a bonus… have a look at the unboxing video from TUAW. He can’t see the little arrows in the circles where you peel the tape. It’s very funny! You can see the circly ‘open here’ symbol on the first side that he tries.

Apples 4th Manhattan store!

October 29, 2009 · Leave a Comment

The scaffolding is down to reveal this wonderful artwork covering the glass facade to stop sneaky peeks.

Apparently there is street level retail and another 2 floors underground for even more Apple shopping.

Just like Chermside in Queensland, it’ll be open for your holiday shopping REAL SOON!

Bright and shiny new toys!!!!

October 21, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Thank you Steve for making my Wednesday morning and having me use my considerable brain power to work out how I can afford to buy the new 27″ iMac.

I think with Thanksgiving, Xmas and New Year coming up, iCardz2go needs a second Mac for design and processing.

I think they will also need a new Magic Mouse and Remote. Us that okay by you Mr Tax Man? Cool!

As usual tuaw.com has the best run down on all the products.
